Job description

AHCA / NCAL is seeking a Vice President of Conferences & Professional Development to improve lives by delivering solutions for quality care through leading the vision, planning, and execution of AHCA / NCAL’s high profile meetings and education portfolio.

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • To lead, manage and “own” all AHCA / NCAL in-person conferences, events, and the annual convention.
  • Lead the research and development of short and long-form education sessions, and other member focused resources that make up the offerings available on ahcancalED, the association’s online learning platform.
  • Meet or exceed all net profit goals. For 2025, the total registration revenue goal across all programming was $1.9M (excluding sponsorship, exhibits) and expenses of $4.1M.
  • Ensure design and delivery of timely, high impact education agendas to ensure they are must-attend events – both in person and via the ahcancalED online platform.
  • Lead event operations, contract negotiations, budget development, expense control, and continuous improvement across all programs.
  • Continuously research and integrate the latest industry trends, topics, best practices, technology, and innovations impacting AHCA / NCAL.
  • Drive operational excellence and data-informed decisions that enhance the impact and reach of hosted events.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans, budgets, and annual goals to ensure growth, quality and relevance of AHCA / NCAL offerings.
  • Ensure operational efficiency and high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction across all services.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to program delivery, compliance and reputation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

BA / BS in Management, Business, Meeting Planning, or related field required. Minimum of 10 years’ experience. Certified Meeting Planner preferred. Certifications or course work in adult learning principles a plus.
