Senior Medical Equipment Planner

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Equipment Planner to lead the medical equipment planning component of healthcare capital projects. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in medical equipment, combined with project management expertise and a consultative approach to client engagement.

As a Senior Equipment Planner, you will be responsible for delivering high-value outcomes for complex healthcare projects, managing equipment planning activities, mentoring junior staff, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, specification, and validation of medical equipment across multiple healthcare projects
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, facility managers, and clinical staff to ensure equipment aligns with design and operational needs
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and forecasting plans related to equipment planning
• Supervise and mentor equipment planners and coordinators
• Conduct room-by-room equipment planning and coordinate with BIM teams for accurate placement
• Facilitate vendor presentations, site visits, and pricing negotiations
• Ensure smooth transitions between project phases, including procurement and logistics
• Maintain high standards of documentation, quality assurance, and client communication
• Support post-project surveys and closeout activities

Key Skills & Qualifications

Technical Expertise

• In-depth knowledge of medical equipment planning and integration in healthcare environments
• Familiarity with clinical workflows and ability to consult with clinical staff
• Experience with BIM coordination and interpreting architectural / engineering plans
• Proficiency in equipment planning software and database management tools
• Ability to evaluate and recommend current technologies and best practices

Project Management

• Proven ability to manage complex projects across multiple phases
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial management skills
• Experience leading and mentoring cross-functional teams
• Skilled in schedule management and status reporting
• Quality assurance and conflict resolution capabilities
