Job descriptionAttend and engage families directly at community events and health fairs in various locations. Set up and take down of recruitment events which includes giveaways, table, chairs and canopies. Develop, advertise, and engage families through parent-child playgroups and parenting classes Develop and maintain key partnerships with organizations and churches that can offer space for parent-child playgroups parenting classes at various locations through-out County. Work with FBB Development department to develop marketing materials; secure supplies for playgroups, community meeting and events. Work closely with Enrollment Specialist to coordinate for recruitment. Function as a liaison between early learning community partners using the universal referral process by developing and maintaining developed by early learning partners. Identify and implement creative ways to locate, connect, and engage with families. Track all recruitment activities and events. Delivers respectful and immediate support to families in crisis using a strengths-based approach. Serves as the initial point of contact and service navigator for families, to learn about their needs and connect them to the program that will best fit their needs and interest. Provide ongoing phone calls and case management to families who are interested but waiting for services; carry small caseload at times. Maintains regular contact with families until they are connected with an agency for ongoing support. Host and facilitate two or more parent education classes, using the research-based curricula such as Circle of Security, Nurturing Parenting, Abriendo Puertas / Opening Doors, Strengthen Families, or Make a Parenting a Pleasure. Regular communication with parents participating in classes. Recruit and market parenting classes to community partners and parents. Track numbers, attendance, retention rates, complete parenting skill ladders after every class. Provides back up to other parent education classes, Parent Leadership and EHS Policy Council, as needed. Attends in-service training to improve skills, and knowledge of related project Attend and Participate in relevant meetings including but not limited to site meetings, Intake and Screening Team, community outreach team and All Staff. Build, develop, and strengthen community partnerships. Participate in agency-wide projects and initiatives as needed High School Diploma and three years of experience in working in similar positions, OR associate's degree in social work or related field with two years of experience establishing collaborative relationships with community partner organizations OR a combination of education and experience demonstrating knowledge of early childhood and / or home visiting program Demonstrated experience providing early childhood education and / or parenting education services and knowledgeable about early child education systems, parenting education programs, and work with at-risk populations Experience demonstrating strong pro-active and positive leadership, initiative and independent judgment. Strong commitment to Family Building Blocks mission and values serving children and families as well as Contribute to a positive and professional atmosphere at Family Building Blocks and promote caring, calm and respectful interactions with families, children, volunteers, interns and staff of Family Building Ability to work effectively in a team environment and promoting positive, forward thinking, and a strength-based Experience working and providing support to high risk families while adhering to program policies and standards. Must maintain discretion and respect the confidentiality of information about enrolled families, personnel issues and other program Must be creative, flexible, able to juggle multiple priorities, exercise good Strong problem-solving skills and ability to stay calm in a busy Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication Possess computer skills, to include use of internet, email, and data entry (Microsoft Office) and ability to learn new programs required for the Supports multiculturalism by treating all people with dignity and respect and not engaging in discriminatory behavior. Support Family Building Blocks established safety policies and procedures toward a safe and healthy work Must have Pediatric First Aid / CPR card and Food Handler's card within 30 days of employment. Possess a valid Oregon Driver's license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation. Must be able to provide proof of current auto Must successfully pass Oregon Department of Early Learning Child Care Background Registry and Oregon State Police Criminal An employer-paid pre-employment drug test is required Bilingual in Spanish / English.

Family Building Blocks is accepting applications for a full-time Bilingual Spanish / English Family Outreach Coordinator. The Family Outreach Coordinator works to engage and recruit families in Polk and / or Marion counties by providing support to parents as they are waiting to access our services, parenting education, hosting / participating in community events, and playgroups. Developing and maintaining strong collaborations with community partner organizations will be a crucial function of this position.
