Responsibilities Work in a 20-bed ICU / Advanced Care Unit within a hospital setting Patient populations include CHF, respiratory distress, acute coronary syndromes, A-fib with RVR, diabetes, blood product administration, CVA overflow, and post-cath patients Care for vascular, abdominal, and GI surgical patients Manage a 2 : 1 ICU RN-to-patient ratio, with occasional 1 : 1 based on acuity Float as needed to Telemetry, Med-Surg, and Neurology-Medical units, with travelers first to float Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips monitors Scheduled for 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required No on-call responsibilities Unit supported by 24 / 7 respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, telemetry tech, and onsite hospitalist Responsible for telemetry review and charting Charge nurse oversees unit and responds to codes and rapid response Initial orientation includes general hospital onboarding and two unit shifts Professional attire; scrubs of any color are permitted Up to 7 days off can be approved during contract First-time travelers are not accepted for this position Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required Current ACLS and BLS certifications required Minimum of 2 years ICU RN experience required Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment Experience with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and monitoring femoral arterial sheaths required Ability to administer drips such as diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, and heparin required Preferred experience with arterial lines, Impella, and IABP devices Experience charting in Epic preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-621838.
