Vice President of Agile Practices

Responsibilities
The Vice President of Agile Practices to maintain and optimize our agile development practices across our team of 700+ engineers, product managers, and design professionals. This hands-on leadership role will drive the evolution of our agile practices, with emphasis on implementing and optimizing the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to improve predictability, productivity, and cost efficiency.
- Lead comprehensive SAFe implementation and optimization across multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs)
- Drive cultural and agile practices transformation
- Establish and maintain agile governance frameworks, practices, and metrics (KPIs and OKRs) that support business objectives
- Champion continuous improvement through regular inspect-and-adapt cycles
- Develop, execute, and monitor multi-year agile maturity roadmaps
- Manage and develop team of Scrum Masters and Project Managers (~10 professionals)
- Train and coach Project Managers to transition into Scrum Master and SAFe Release Train Engineer roles
- Design and implement comprehensive agile training programs across the organization
- Establish career progression paths and competency models for agile roles
- Foster a culture of servant leadership and continuous learning
- Partner with Product, Design, QA, DevOps, and Architecture teams to optimize value delivery
- Coach and mentor senior leaders across the organization on agile principles and practices
- Facilitate large-scale planning events, including Program Increment (PI) Planning
- Remove organizational impediments and drive systemic improvements
- Establish metrics and KPIs to measure agile maturity and business outcomes
- Evaluate and implement agile tooling and platforms to support scaled delivery
- Lead vendor selection and management for external agile consultants and trainers
- Develop organizational change management strategies to support agile adoption
- Define and execute the organization-wide strategy aligned with business and engineering goals
- Champion a culture of agility, experimentation, and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization
- Report on transformation progress and business impact to executive leadership
Qualifications
The Vice President of Agile Practices should bring the following to our mission :
12+ years of experience in agile transformation, coaching, and implementationBachelors' degree in related field5+ years in senior leadership roles managing agile teams and transformation initiativesDirect experience leading SAFe implementations in organizations with 500+ technology professionalsProven track record of successful large-scale agile transformations with measurable business outcomesSaaS / Technology industry experience required; healthcare experience strongly preferredSAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification strongly preferredDeep expertise in multiple agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, XP, SAFe)Understanding of DevOps practices and continuous delivery principlesPractical knowledge of agile metrics and measurement practicesGraduate degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related fieldExperience with enterprise-scale agile tooling (Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally)We believe in total rewards that actually matternot just competitive packages, but benefits that support how you want to live and work.

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $150,000 to $240,000 annually. Note that compensation may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for 15% target bonus / variable compensation as well as health, dental, vision, mental health and other benefits.
