Position Overview :
The candidate shall have the ability to conduct RAMS analyses on Locomotives, Coach Cars and Light Rail vehicles. In this role, you will carry out Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety analysis for the assigned Rail vehicle projects to ensure vehicle design compliance with Rail Industry standards and Customer Specifications.
What your day-to-day will look like :
- Plan, coordinate, perform, and execute all tasks related to RAMS deliverables on the vehicle project. RAMS deliverables on a vehicle project includes :
- Develop and execute RAMS plans, including Reliability and Maintainability Program Plans and System Safety Program Plans.
- Perform vehicle FMECA, reliability and maintainability analyses, and hazard assessments (PHA, SSHA).
- Conduct Fault Tree and Sneak Circuit Analyses to identify potential system risks.
- Prepare and implement Reliability and Maintainability Demonstration Plans.
- Serve as key RAMS point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with system engineers to ensure design solutions meet RAMS requirements and standards.
- Review and assign RAMS requirements to subsystem suppliers; coordinate and approve supplier RAMS deliverables.
- Review RAMS deliverables with customers, address feedback, and secure timely approvals.
To thrive in this role, you have :
Bachelor’s in engineering with 5+ years RAMS experience in Rolling Stock preferred; experience in other safety-critical industries accepted. Recent graduates may apply.Excellent interpersonal skills - verbal, written and presentation.Ability to work independently.Detailed knowledge of RAMS theory and experience in RAMS tools & techniques.Knowledge of Rail Industry Standards - EN 50126, 50128, 50129, and / or Safety standards IEC 61508, MIL-STD-882E, MIL-STD-1629A, DOT-FTA-MA- 26-5005-00-01, FRA 238.105Experience in participating in safety review boards.Ability to identify safety critical functions both in hardware and in software.Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control schematics as well as mechanical engineering drawings.Why you'll love working for Siemens!
