Job Title : Student Data Systems Consultant
Reports To : Director of Schools / Supervisor of Technology & Data Services
Job Summary :
The Student Data Systems Consultant will support the school system in managing and optimizing student data operations. This position requires expertise in Tennessee student data management platforms, with a focus on guiding the transition from the current Education Information System (EIS) to the Tennessee Educator Data System (TEDS). The consultant will work closely with administrators, technology staff, and school-level personnel to ensure accurate data entry, compliance with state reporting requirements, and successful implementation of new systems.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide technical and procedural support for student information systems, including Synergy EduPoint and EIS.
- Lead and support the school system through the transition from EIS to TEDS, including setup, data migration, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with district and school-level staff to ensure accurate and timely state reporting.
- Train and assist school personnel in the effective use of student data management tools.
- Develop and maintain documentation of processes, procedures, and reporting guidelines.
- Serve as a liaison between the school system and the Tennessee Department of Education regarding student data submissions and compliance.
- Identify and resolve issues related to data accuracy, reporting, and system functionality.
- Stay current with updates, best practices, and state requirements related to student data management.
Qualifications :
Demonstrated experience working with Student Data Management Systems in Tennessee, including Synergy EduPoint and EIS.Strong understanding of Tennessee’s student data reporting requirements and processes.Willingness to learn and adapt to new platforms, specifically the TEDS system, and guide others in the transition process.Ability to analyze, interpret, and present data clearly to various stakeholders.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and training skills with both technical and non-technical staff.Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Education, Data Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.Preferred Skills :
Experience with large-scale data migration projects.Familiarity with state reporting cycles, accountability measures, and compliance requirements in Tennessee.Ability to troubleshoot technical issues within student data systems.About StaffEZ :
