As a Travel Nurse RN specializing in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with cardiac and telemetry needs, requiring a minimum of two years of experience. Your role includes EKG monitoring, interpreting cardiac rhythms, and administering titratable drips under self-scheduling 12-hour shifts. This position demands strong clinical skills, adherence to guidelines, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dedicated healthcare team.

Job Details

Unit : B3B - CHF Telemetry - 2 years minimum experience required.

Unit B3A - Cardiopulmonary Telemetry & Neuro - MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Common diagnosis / Types of patients : CHF and general Telemetry, Fluid overload, SOB, arrhythmias, ETOH, etc.

Job Requirements

Must have skills : EKG monitoring

Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48hrs prior to acceptance of a position - 2 MAXIMUM ATTEMPTS, ONLY - NO EXCEPTIONS, NO 3RD ATTEMPT ALLOWED.

2 years minimum experience required.

Schedule Information

Self Scheduling, 12 hr shifts. 7-7.

Every other weekend.

2 major holidays, 2 minor depending on contract dates.

Unit Specific Information

# beds : 30

Ratios : 1 : 3-4.

Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes.

Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Yes - cardiac, heparin, Lasix, bumex, etc.

Charge Nurse / House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes, no patient assignment. Also have a manager.

Are there nurse aids on this unit / Ratios? PCTs - 1 per every 15 patients.

Are there Tele / Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? RNs must be able to interpret EKGs.

Scrub Color / Dress code : Navy.

Unit / Department specific orientation : 2 days on the floor.

Floating Requirements : Yes - to any tele floor.

Additional Details

Medical Solutions will prescreen, Auto Offer off of Prescreen Recommendation.

There is also a pass / fail Sim Lab on day one of orientation.
