Position Overview

The Bartender is responsible for crafting exceptional beverages while providing warm, attentive, and professional service to every guest. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a minimum of 3 years of bartending experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant or bar setting.

The ideal candidate has a deep knowledge of mixology, wine, and spirits, and can create memorable guest experiences that align with The Odyssey's elevated standards and newly reimagined atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with consistency and creativity.

Engage guests with genuine hospitality and provide beverage recommendations.

Maintain knowledge of current cocktail trends, house recipes, beer, wine, and spirits.

Ensure the bar area is clean, organized, and fully stocked before, during, and after service.

Follow all recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.

Accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, and daily register reconciliation.

Collaborate with servers and management to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.

Comply with all state, local, and company alcohol service laws and safety procedures.

Assist in training new bar team members when needed.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of bartending experience in an upscale, full-service restaurant or bar required.

Exceptional knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and accuracy.

Must be of legal age to serve alcohol and possess a valid California RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) certification.

Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Lift and carry up to 25–30 lbs as needed.
