Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon to work locum shifts in Tacoma Washington (WA). Starting as soon as December 2025, the role offers ongoing work with a competitive market rate and benefits. The Surgery role : St Joseph in Tacoma is looking for 1 Orthopedic Surgeon to cover 2 weeks per month for Level II Trauma center. Possible clinic coverage up to 4-8 days per month. Clinic could be 2 days per week or 2 days every other week. EMR : Epic Duration : 6 - 9 months Setting : Hospital and Outpatient Clinic Duties : 2 weeks per month covering the ER 24 / 7 with dedicated PA support. 3.5 days outpatient clinic(these days are not confirmed, will be three mornings each week, Monday-Friday.) FTE : 1.0 Required Procedures : Full spectrum of orthopedic cases minus complex pelvic issues. Support Staff : Hospital support and MA in outpatient clinic Reason for Coverage : Provider resignation Deal breakers : Must have 5 years of Level II experience Admissions per day, Patients / day, Types of cases, Disclosures that may need to be made, etc. : Varies from 0-7 Full Scope Orthopaedic Surgeries- specifically trauma Coverage needed : 11 / 9(7a)-11 / 23(7a) 12 / 25(7a)-1 / 1(7a) Requirements of the Orthopedic Surgery role : WA state license; active, unrestricted (due to the urgency of this request, local candidates only) Board Certified / Board Eligible WA State DEA Benefits : Competitive Market Rate (rate based on availability, experience and certifications) Malpractice insurance provided Our specialist recruitment team will support you every step of the way through application to credentialing to starting in your new role.
