Summary & Objective
The Dietitian is responsible for the nutritional care and education of all patients / residents in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, through physician / nurse referral.
Knowledge & Experience Requirements
- Current State of Florida license as a dietitian.
- Registration or eligibility with the CDR of the American Dietetic Association.
- BS in clinical dietetics or foods / nutrition; plus, one-year internship or equivalent, or master’s degree required.
- Minimum of one-year clinical dietetics experience preferred.
- Skilled Nursing and IRF experience preferred.
- Must be able to provide own transportation to various locations in service areas, as required by duties
- Must have knowledge of computer office / clinical software.
- Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
Essential Functions
Reviews the dietary requirements of each patient / resident, as required, and assist the attending physician in planning for the patients / residents prescribed diet plan.Ensure that all-interdisciplinary notes charted are informative and descriptive of the services provided and of the patients / resident’s response to the services.Participates in discharge planning, development and implementation of patient care plans, patient assessments, etc., as required.Involves the patient and family in planning objectives and goals for the patient.Plans normal and special diet menus as prescribed by the attending physicianEvaluate and insure accuracy in the preparation of documentation.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.Other Duties
Provide information and other relevant updates audibly to patients, care givers and interdisciplinary team members as necessary.Develop and participate in programs designed for in-service education, on-the-job training and orientation classes for newly hired personnel.Respect and maximize team effort through interactions with both clinical sand support staff.Positively interfaces with patient care teams and works in positive collaboration with interdisciplinary team.Maintain your required licenses, certifications and mandatory skill updates.Comply with all policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations.Provide other duties of healthcare team memberPerform other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility

Must be a Registered Professional Nurse with current licensureCPR, ACLS, and BCLS CertificationKnowledge of OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA complianceCandidate must be able to lift and position patients on endoscopy stretcher and transport patients
