Summary

The Teacher Assistant supports the Lead Teachers and the Director in creating a caring, engaging, and safe environment for the children. This role involves assisting with curriculum implementation, supervising activities, and fostering positive relationships with children and families.

The ideal candidate is collaborative, reliable, and passionate about early childhood education. Under the guidance of the Teacher and Director, the Teacher Assistant / Aide will help implement developmentally appropriate activities based on each child's needs and interests.

Duties

  • Assist in the implementation of curricula based activities that promote growth and learning.
  • Actively engage with children during play and educational activities.
  • Manage cleanliness, organization, and availability of classroom materials.
  • Maintain frequent professional communications with parents / guardians including informal check-ins, progress reports, and conferences.
  • Model and encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
  • Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
  • Follow all center policies and comply with state licensing regulations.
  • Attend and help supervise children during scheduled field trips (on and off-site).
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
  • High School Diploma, Degree, or GED and significant college credit in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • High energy.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • An understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Pediatric First Aid / CPR / AED certification (or willingness to obtain BEFORE start date).
  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
  • Must be able to actively engage with children throughout the day and meet physical demands of the job.
  • Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Lead Teacher, Teacher's Assistant / Aide, or classroom floater.
  • Pediatric First Aid / CPR / AED certification
  • Relevant certifications such as SC 15-Hours Pre-Service Training, CDA, Bloodborne Pathogens, Lifeguard, First Aid, etc.
  • Bilingual or Multilingual skills are a plus

  • Schedule :
  • Part-Time : October - December 2025 | Hours : 12 : 00 PM - 5 : 30 PM
  • Full-Time : Begins January 2026 | Hours : 9 : 00 AM - 5 : 30 PM
  • Sign-on Bonus : Moderate bonus paid after 60 days of employment and service.
  • Starting Pay : $12.00 / hour
  • A $1.00 / hour increase will be applied in February 2026 upon successful completion of the part-time phase and transition to a full-time teacher role.
  • Holiday Closures : Wednesday to Sunday the week of Thanksgiving; Two weeks for Christmas and New Year's.
  • Additional Incentives : Performance -based raises, bonuses, and opportunities for advancement through training.
  • Direct Deposit : Available after 60 days of employment and service.
