Retail Market Manager

The Retail Market Manager (RMM) contributes to AMCB TD Bank's overall strategic goals by leading the financial performance, customer experience, and operational efficiency of store locations within a specific geographic area. This leadership role is accountable to drive consistent execution of behaviors and outcomes in Store Managers to achieve financial performance, customer experience, and operational efficiency. This role develops market strategies to achieve business objectives and to maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.

Depth & Scope :

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and driving effective performance management, as required
  • Develops and executes market-level strategies to meet sales and revenue targets. Drive the growth of deposits, loans, and other retail banking products. Identify and capitalize on market opportunities to expand customer base
  • Oversees and leads a network of diverse Stores while monitoring and evaluating performance and growing talent, developing skills and capabilities to achieve career goals, leads by example in promoting company values and culture, supports project / initiative success and achieving business results
  • Leads a strong culture / risk framework within the region by ensuring stores are adhering to all banking regulations / internal policies to ensure optimal regional performance related to retail operations, loss, risk exposure, controllable expenses, and supports ongoing development, long term business plan goals and operational integrity, adherence to risk requirements and operational processes
  • Drives / influences a risk mindset, understand and operate within the risk appetite for TD. Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards and foster a culture of ethical behavior
  • Ensures a consistent, high-quality customer experience across all Stores, oversees the implementation of customer-focused initiatives and programs, analyzes customer feedback and market trends to refine service delivery
  • Leads a market of consistent customer service behaviors to deliver TD's brand promise making it easy to bank with TD when and how they want. Focus on providing personalized connected experiences while addressing customer irritants and complaints in a timely and effective manner and offering appropriate solutions to meet the customer needs
  • Supports financial growth by collaborating with partners (Commercial, Small Business, Wealth, etc.), and other lines of business by developing awareness of TD in the local community
  • Acts as point of escalation / contact within the Store and Region for issues raised from customers, other internal groups, and / or partners, and ensures swift resolutions
  • Build strong relationships with local communities to enhance the bank's presence. Represents the bank at community events, networking opportunities, and business forums and fosters partnerships with local businesses and organizations to drive growth
  • Identifies growth opportunities, market trends, and competitive challenges; collaborates with marketing to develop regional campaigns
  • Reinforce a culture where we make a difference within the community by serving on boards and fosters engagement in volunteering, financial education, etc.
  • Leads a team and environment dedicated to our customers, communities, and colleagues, to inclusion and diversity and to our environment

Education & Experience :

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in a retail banking, financial institution preferred
  • 5 years of management experience preferably in a retail banking environment with consumer lending experience preferred
  • Previous sales and business development experience
  • Exhibits strong leadership competencies, collaboration, flexibility, influence, innovative, creativity, integrity, and passion
  • Strong understanding of store operations, policies, and procedures
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced sales environment
  • Proven ability to negotiate, manage relationships, and influence across business lines
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Leading a large team through multiple layers of management. The leader will oversee managers and their teams, ensuring alignment to business goals, consistent execution, and strong communication across groups. They will develop leaders, drive performance, and foster an inclusive, high-performing culture while managing priorities and resources at scale.
  • Prior large team management is strongly preferred.
