Job Details :

• Work 12-hour shifts with 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks
• Holiday coverage based on unit coverage needs
• Must have Level 1 trauma experience - required
• Strong Med Surg experience required, rehab experience preferred
• Patient ratios : RN 1 : 6, Tech 1 : 8
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Must complete pass / fail SIMs Lab on day 1 including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Required certifications : BLS, FIM
• Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings
• Men must be clean shaven for fit test
• Must have own vehicle for transportation
• Dress code : Slate grey scrubs
• Electronic medical record system : Cerner
• Float to any Med Surg unit as needed
• Floor specific orientation : 2 shifts
• Work with 90% neuro population including TBI, brain tumor resection, CVA, transplant patients
• Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds
• Provide acute Med Surg care including IV therapy and wound care
• High level of communication and personal involvement with patients and families required
• 50-mile radius rule enforced

Facility :

This healthcare facility operates as a Level 1 trauma center with a specialized 52-bed neuro rehabilitation unit. The facility features comprehensive support services including 24 / 7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services, SWAT RN team for difficult IV access, and three rehab physicians who round daily with on-call coverage at night. The unit maintains a low stimulation environment focused on neuro rehabilitation with an average length of stay of 19-21 days and provides intensive therapy services 5 days per week for 3 hours per day.
