Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Labor and Delivery Discipline : RN Start Date : 12 / 08 / 2025 Duration : 14 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, flexible Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Family Birthing Center / Labor & Delivery position requiring a NM or compact state RN license and two years of recent L&D experience. Responsibilities Work in a Family Birthing Center within a hospital setting Patient populations include antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborns Float between departments or local locations within 20 miles as required 12-hour day shifts with occasional night shifts at the start of contract 3 shifts per week (0.9 FTE), with 16 hours of on-call required per 4-week schedule Use of Epic EMR; on-site training available Responsibilities include triage, labor assessment, fetal and maternal evaluation, medication administration, and immediate newborn stabilization Care for postpartum patients following vaginal and cesarean deliveries, provide newborn care including medication administration and stabilization of critically ill newborns for transport Expected to assist with scheduled or emergency cesarean deliveries Adherence to holiday coverage as assigned BCA testing must be passed during orientation for continuation of assignment No charge or preceptor duties required Requirements Active NM or compact state RN license required Minimum two years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required BLS certification through AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross required NRP and AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications required Must pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) testing during the first week of assignment Travelers who fail BCA testing twice will be dismissed Return perm staff must wait at least one year before being considered as a traveler No local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-634330.
