American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele Float Pool position with cardiac rhythm interpretation and night shift requirements.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Med / Surg Tele Float Pool of an acute care hospital with Trauma Level 2Float to multiple units including 6N, 7N, 4N, 5S, 6S, and Critical CareTypical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 5-6, occasionally up to 7 at the end of shift depending on acuityCommon patient types include CHF, cardiac cath, chest pain, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, orthopedic, and oncology (without chemo administration)12-hour night shifts with a requirement to work every other weekend (Saturday / Sunday)Uses Epic EMR for documentationCPAP and BiPap equipment used and managed by RT; RNs not required to manage vented patientsRN must report to the clinical coordinator's office before each shift for unit assignmentRNs must be able to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips and will not have to titrate dripsRoyal blue scrubs are requiredCNAs support all unitsMonitor techs are available on most units, but RNs must independently read and interpret telemetry stripsParticipation in the holiday rotation with permanent staff is required1-2 shifts of orientation with a preceptor are providedFirst-time travelers will be considered for this roleMust not have worked at any WVU Medicine location in the past 2 years to be eligibleTravelers may not work within WVU Medicine for longer than one year without a 2-year breakCandidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility, and local travelers are not accepted\n \n Requirements\n
