Director of Construction – Dhanani Group
The Dhanani Group, one of the largest QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) franchisees in the U.S., with a diverse portfolio that includes Popeyes, Dunkin ’, and La Madeleine, is seeking a Director of Construction to lead and oversee all aspects of its construction and development projects. This executive role is responsible for managing a team, driving strategic planning, and ensuring the successful execution of new builds, remodels, and renovations across the company's portfolio of restaurant and retail locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multi-unit commercial construction, leadership experience, and a deep understanding of cost control, scheduling, and quality management. The office is in Sugar Land, TX.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and execute the company's construction strategy, ensuring alignment with business growth objectives .
- Oversee multiple construction projects from site selection through completion, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
- Lead and manage the construction team, including project managers, site supervisors, and external contractors.
- Establish and maintain relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to drive efficiency and cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal building regulations, permits, and safety standards.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting for construction initiatives.
- Drive process improvements to streamline construction timelines, reduce costs, and maintain quality standards.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure adherence to company standards.
- Collaborate with real estate, operations, and finance teams to support site development and expansion strategies.
- Implement and oversee risk management, safety programs, and quality control measures.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project status, challenges, and strategic recommendations.
Qualifications & Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in construction management , Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field ( master’s preferred).10+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a focus on QSR, retail, or multi-unit developments.5+ years of leadership experience managing construction teams and large-scale projects.Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.Expertise in budgeting, contract negotiation, value engineering, and construction scheduling.Strong understanding of construction best practices, permitting, and regulatory compliance.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.Willingness to travel frequently to project sites.#urgentlyhiring
