Position Summary : Fleet
Manager
The Fleet Manager is a
critical leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight,
planning, and management of all Leaf Home fleet operations to
ensure optimal vehicle utilization, safety compliance, and
cost-effectiveness. The Fleet Manager will lead and mentor the
fleet team while driving initiatives that enhance operational
efficiency and contribute to the organization’s overall
success.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and supervision of fleet
staff, including recruitment, training, performance management, and
professional development to build a high-performing
team.
Develop, implement, and refine vehicle
and equipment procurement and disposition strategies, aligning them
with organizational goals and industry best practices.
Design, implement, and evaluate cross-functional training
programs for fleet operations, ensuring staff possess the required
skills and knowledge to operate effectively and safely.
Oversee and manage the fleet inspection program, ensuring
all drivers complete thorough inspections of vehicles and
equipment. Drive compliance, maintain quality standards, and
resolve issues identified during inspections.
Ensure compliance with all current DOT regulations and
industry standards, establishing a culture of safety and
accountability.
Analyze, prepare, and present
fleet OKRs and performance reports to senior management, using
insights to inform decision-making and improvements.
Develop and oversee preventative maintenance schedules
and fleet management practices using advanced fleet management
software to enhance reliability and reduce downtime.
Drive cost optimization and efficiency initiatives within
fleet operations, including monitoring fuel usage, maintenance
costs, and fleet performance.
Lead
cross-functional collaborations with other departments to ensure
fleet operations support broader organizational
objectives.
Represent fleet operations in
strategic meetings, contributing insights on performance, budgets,
and future initiatives.
Perform other duties
as assigned by supervisor.
Experience and Minimum
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of
education, training, and experience
5+ years
of experience in the asset management field with at least 2+ in a
leadership role
Expertise in creating,
implementing, and refining fleet policies and procedures
Comprehensive knowledge of accident reporting procedures
and crisis management strategies
Proven
experience in pricing, specifying, and negotiating vehicle
purchases / leases
Ability to analyze and track
total cost of ownership with strategies for cost
reduction
In-depth understanding of DOT
regulations, compliance, and industry trends
Strong budgetary experience and negotiating skills for
fleet expenditures
Ability to manage multiple
priorities and stakeholders effectively
Strong
problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all
levels
Service-oriented mindset with
empathetic communication
Valid driver’s
license required
Proficiency in Microsoft
Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project,
Access)
Must be legally authorized to work in
the country of employment without sponsorship
