Who Our Client Is:

Our client is a mission-driven healthcare organization focused on advancing innovation, improving patient outcomes, and strengthening communities. They believe that diversity fuels creativity, collaboration, and success. By fostering an inclusive workplace where every voice is valued, respected, and empowered, they create an environment where people can thrive both personally and professionally.

What Our Client Needs:

Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide hands-on engineering support for complex combination product systems, focusing on electrical, electromechanical, and embedded software components. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, sustaining engineering, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to ensure reliability, compliance, and manufacturability of electrical systems. The engineer will collaborate with internal teams and external manufacturers to resolve technical issues and support the full product lifecycle.

Who You Are:

You are a technically skilled engineer with a strong background in electrical systems, embedded software, and electromechanical integration. You’re comfortable working in regulated environments, applying root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques to maintain compliance and reliability. You thrive in cross-functional teams, communicate effectively, and take a proactive approach to sustaining engineering and process improvement.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide sustaining engineering support for electrical and electromechanical systems, including embedded software and firmware components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in production, validation, and field support.
  • Support design changes, component obsolescence management, and lifecycle activities.
  • Partner with Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) and suppliers to ensure robust and compliant execution of electrical processes.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement principles to enhance reliability, yield, and cost performance.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, validation protocols, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC 60601, FDA, ISO 13485, and other applicable standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to address technical challenges and maintain uninterrupted product supply.

This position requires travel up to 25–30% to locations in the United States, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering (electrical focus), or related discipline (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in electrical system design, troubleshooting, or sustaining support.
  • Strong understanding of electrical circuits, PCB design, embedded systems, sensors, electromechanical integration, and test method development.
  • Knowledge of embedded software or firmware (C, C++).
  • Familiarity with validation processes (IQ/OQ/PQ), root cause analysis, and Lean Six Sigma problem-solving.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (IEC 60601, ISO 13485, FDA QSR).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Prior experience with medical device or combination product engineering and direct exposure to CMOs (preferred).

What They Offer:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth
  • Collaborative and innovative work environment
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Life and AD&D Insurance
  • Short- and Long-Term Disability Coverage
  • 401(k) with generous company match
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) with company match
  • Wellness Program and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO)

Equal Opportunity Statement:

Our client believes that diversity fuels innovation, strengthens teams, and drives success. They are committed to fostering a workplace where every individual—regardless of background—feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive.

Discrimination or harassment of any kind is strictly prohibited.

Our client does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, ethnicity, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable laws. Their commitment extends beyond compliance; they actively cultivate an inclusive culture where diverse perspectives are welcomed, and every employee has an equal opportunity to contribute and succeed.
