Position Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical Engineering team and serve as the on-site lead for one of the primary satellite subsystems at our high-volume final assembly line in Midland, TX. This role offers a unique hands-on perspective and direct involvement in the full lifecycle of flight hardware and Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) - from design trades and prototyping to testing, production implementation, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor, driving solutions to non-conformances, establishing robust processes, and supporting continuous improvement. Success in this role requires creativity, reliability, strong organizational skills, and the confidence to challenge existing norms in pursuit of excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform design, prototyping, and testing for thermomechanical solutions related to flight hardware and MGSE.
• Develop mechanical designs, CAD models, and manufacturing drawings.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Production teams, and technicians to ensure product requirements are met and non-conformances are resolved.
• Lead resolution of product non-conformances and support standardization of engineering dispositions.
• Support change management and deployment of new designs into production.
• Participate in environmental test campaigns and support project milestones (PDR, CDR, MRR) and quality reviews (MRB, FRB).
• Assist in hardware procurement and engage suppliers for engineering definition when needed.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.

Experience

A minimum of 2 years in mechanical design or manufacturing, preferably in aerospace or automotive industries.
