Accountable for ensuring approved underwriting strategies and protocols are effectively implemented across the enterprise. Researches, develops, maintains, and communicates underwriting standards, methods, processes, and best practices, at the highest level of complexity for underwriters, product managers and underwriting management for all products and distribution methods globally. This includes Transactional, Portfolio, Strategic Products, Portfolio Risk Solutions, Custom Risk Solutions, HSB Canada and UK.
Responsible and accountable for the execution of the underwriting discipline and ensuring underwriting staff globally are aware of current issues and their impacts. Ensures compliance with guidelines.
Monitor product underwriting performance and market, legal, technological & environmental issues and trends and provide underwriting expertise to drive product enhancements and adjustments to guarantee profitable underwriting. Supports the Product Underwriting Leaders and may assume responsibility as product underwriting leads for certain products.
Consults and collaborates with Munich corporate underwriting and other HSB departments on issues impacting underwriting and recommends actions and adjustments. Leads and / or participates in Focused Underwriting Reviews to identify the degree to which underwriting strategy and standards have been implemented and executed.
