Industrial Maintenance Mechanic — PLC & WeldingRole snapshot
- Employment type : 3-month W2 contract
- Worksite : Onsite at 450 Jaycee Drive, Hazleton, PA 18202
- Schedule : 1st shift, Monday–Thursday, 6 : 00 AM–4 : 20 PM
- PPE : Bring steel-toe boots; task-specific PPE provided onsite
A day in this role
You arrive before the line starts, walk the floor, and review overnight maintenance tickets. A packaging conveyor is tripping a drive, so you diagnose with your meter, verify the PLC I / O, make the fix, and log the work in the maintenance tracking system. Before lunch, you complete scheduled PMs, inspect critical equipment, and flag anything that needs follow-up. In the afternoon, you weld a bracket for a guarding repair, confirm quality after a changeover, and coordinate with the maintenance manager on parts inventory for upcoming work.
What you’ll do
Troubleshoot and repair production and facility equipment quickly, completely, and cost-effectivelyPerform preventive maintenance; inspect assigned assets and report findings to managementClose work orders and keep the maintenance tracking system currentIdentify and recommend fixes for electrical issues, including drives and PLC-related problemsVerify equipment performance and product quality after repairs, changeovers, or downtimeMaintain repair parts, tools, and supplies inventoryRespond immediately to safety risks and eliminate any imminent hazardsCare for building systems and appearance (utilities, ventilation, housekeeping, plumbing)Communicate ongoing and potential issues with group leaders and the maintenance managerSupport other related tasks as assignedWhat you bring
Education : High school diploma / GED preferred (not required); certifications a plusExperience : 1–3 years in industrial maintenance within a fast-paced manufacturing setting; equivalent training / experience consideredStrong ability to read gauges, tools, and instruments related to quality and repairSolid electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skillsFamiliarity with PLCs and drives preferredMIG and / or arc welding experienceForklift experience required; training providedProficiencies
