Pharmacy Technician
Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join the Inpatient Pharmacy! Position highlights include a day shift position with hours from 6 : 00am to 2 : 30pm, including a weekend and holiday rotation. The 24 / 7 inpatient pharmacy provides care to admitted pediatric patients. Technician responsibilities include stocking automated medication dispensing cabinets, compounding both nonsterile and sterile medications, contributing to batch / stat preparation and delivery to bedside, and assisting the pharmacist as needed. Dedicated training for each aspect of medication preparation and dispensing will be provided. Hospital experience is preferred. Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician through either PTCB or NHA in order to be considered.
Key responsibilities include assisting the pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing and / or distribution of medications, applying departmental processes regarding inventory control, performing activities as directed by Pharmacists & / or Pharmacy Managers in accordance with federal, state and local laws / regulations and hospital policies, delivering outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers, operating computer systems and utilizing technology. Technical capabilities include pharmaceutical computer literacy, pharmaceutical drug preparation, dispensing & distribution, pharmaceutical quality assurance & compliance, and drug inventory & records management.

Position qualifications include certifications such as Certified Pharmacy Technician - National Healthcareer Association, Certified Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, LIC-Pharmacy Technician - Tennessee, relevant work experience, less than 1 year of experience level, and graduate of an approved discipline specific program.
