Position Overview

RecruitWell is seeking a board-certified or truly board-eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician for a long-term locum assignment at a college health medical office in Suffolk County, Long Island. This opportunity offers a low-acuity outpatient environment with a strong focus on student wellness, preventive care, and reproductive health services.

The physician will serve as the lead clinical provider , overseeing medical operations and supervising other clinicians while also providing direct patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Provide primary care services to college student population

Offer preventive care, acute care, and chronic disease management

Perform pelvic exams, Pap smears, and STI screening / treatment

Provide contraception counseling and reproductive health services

Clinical supervision and oversight of other healthcare providers

Maintain CPR / BLS and DEA certification

70% clinical duties / 20% administrative duties / 10% professional development & committee work

Preferred Experience

Prior work in college health or outpatient primary care

Experience supervising and mentoring clinical staff

LGBTQ+ inclusive care and PrEP prescribing experience

Leadership experience in a healthcare setting

Candidate Requirements

Board-certified or truly board-eligible in IM or FM

Active New York medical license

Active DEA

CPR / BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)

Prior experience supervising providers
