Valley West Health Care Center is a long-term care and post-acute care facility, well known for its extraordinary customer service, high-quality nursing and therapy services, and high employee morale and retention. We are currently looking for a PRN and full-time Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team.

  • Full-time : $30-$40 / hr DOE
  • PRN : $40 - $45 / hr DOE
  • Schedule : Sunday-Thursday

Position Summary\n

The COTA Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant provides direct rehab care in occupational therapy to patients upon physician referral under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

\nEducation, Experience, and Licensure Requirements\n \n

  • NBCOT certified upon hire, but renewal is optional going forward
  • \n

  • Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy (ASOT)
  • \n

  • Currently registered / licensed in applicable State. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
  • \n

  • One (1) year experience in post acute care or related setting preferred
  • \n

  • CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
  • \n \nSpecific Job Requirements\n \n

  • Participates in community health matters / projects as appropriate
  • \n

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e mail
  • \n

  • Liaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for patient needs
  • \n

  • Demonstrate good body mechanics at all times
  • \n

  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • \n

  • Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
  • \n

  • Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
  • \n

  • Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to : patient rights, and safety and sanitation
  • \n

  • Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
  • \n

  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and / or confidential information
  • \n

  • Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
  • \n

  • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s  Code of Conduct  and completes mandatory  Code of Conduct  and other appropriate compliance training
  • \n \nEssential Functions\n \n

  • Follow occupational treatment plans for patients under the direction of the supervising OT
  • \n

  • Chart appropriately and timely
  • \n

  • Utilize therapy software appropriately and accurately
  • \n

  • Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
  • \n

  • Assist in the evacuation of patients
  • \n

  • Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
  • \n

  • Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
  • \n

  • Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
  • \n

  • Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
  • \n

  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • \n \n
