The

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®

has an opening for a Director of Calendar Management & Product Innovation based

in the Americas Support Center in Los Angeles. This role manages planning and

oversees execution of a customer insight-driven 18-month marketing calendar and

new product innovation relating to development of the marketing calendar for

the company. The annual marketing calendar will include oversight into product

portfolio, product marketing, and consumer insights. This individual will also

play a key role in building and evolving the brand and enhancing brand equity

across all touchpoints. A core focus of this role includes developing and

managing high-impact strategic partnerships to extend brand reach, create

co-marketing opportunities, and accelerate business growth. This position

reports to the VP, Head of Marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Annual

Marketing Plan : Partner with the Head of Marketing to develop a customer

insight-driven marketing plan incorporating Global brand directions. This

includes developing the promotional calendar to drive sales, traffic and check

through key new product initiatives, and system-wide and seasonal promotions (excluding

loyalty-specific promotions managed by the Loyalty Marketing Lead) and programs.

  • 18-month
  • Product Calendar : In collaboration with Product Development, Supply Chain,

    Finance, and Ops Services, as well as the Global Marketing Team, build an 18-month

    “product innovation calendar” that feeds into the 18-month marketing calendar

    (must be at least 6 to 12 months ahead of the marketing calendar year) for food

    and beverages designed to drive traffic and increase sales.  Lead the execution, costing, and pricing

    analysis for all marketing windows in partnership with the cross functional

    team.

  • Retail
  • Coffee & Tea : Develop and lead strategies in retail coffee, tea, and

    merchandise to increase presence in product mix, improve sales to company-owned

    stores, and increase brand reach in specialty channels.

  • Develop
  • customer insights through competitive benchmarking, consumer research projects,

    and creating an annual customer learning / market research plan.

  • Menu
  • Strategy & Pricing : In partnership with the Sr. Menu / In-Store POP Manager,

    oversee and execute menu strategy based on product mix, portfolio margin

    analysis, and key consumer targets. Partner with Finance to set pricing.

  • Brand
  • Partnerships : Identify, evaluate, and secure strategic partnerships,

    sponsorships, and collaboration opportunities. Negotiate partnership agreements and manage

    partner relationships. Oversee

    the development and execution of initiatives with partners, including events,

    campaigns, and content in partnership with the Performance Marketing Manager.

  • Management and Creative Asset Development : Development and cross-utilization of

    creative assets across in-café marketing, website / digital / social channels, CRM

    engagement, new café openings, local café marketing, and café tests in

    partnership with Performance Marketing Manager and Sr. Loyalty Marketing

    Manager.

  • Measurement :
  • Partner with Finance and agencies to analyze marketing programs and adjust

    strategy and tactics to increase effectiveness.

    Your Ingredients

  • Bachelor’s
  • Degree or MBA and 10 years’ experience in corporate marketing.

  • Related
  • experience in restaurant, retail, multi-unit or franchise business, preferably

    F&B. Experience in working in both national and smaller / regional brands a

    plus.

    passionate leader with the ability to inspire and collaborate with own team and

    establish team focus and direction to deliver and execute the marketing

    calendar.

  • Hands-on
  • executive with strong strategic skills and ability to translate to

    implementation plans.
