Assistant Store Manager
We're seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with store functions and day-to-day store activities, helping customers in a positive, approachable manner, and addressing any questions or concerns they may have. The role also involves organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor, ensuring the seasonal areas of the store are maintained, and performing opening and closing procedures as needed. Additionally, the Assistant Store Manager will process all corporate directives, maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays, assist in ordering merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention, and maintain areas of the store to company standards. The position also requires protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash, adhering to policies and procedures, supervising, training, and developing store associates, ensuring a positive, safe, and respectful environment, and maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store.
Skills and experience required include a high school diploma or equivalent, store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height, and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required, as well as the ability to work in a high-energy, team environment, exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills, and strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
