Overview

Gateway Foundation, Inc. is a national non-profit dedicated to helping individuals with substance use and mental health disorders. Gateway provides essential tools and knowledge for recovery and operates through its Community Services, Corrections Divisions, and Corporate Headquarters. This role is based at the Women's Eastern Reception & Diagnostic Correctional Center in Vandalia, MO, as part of our in-prison substance use disorder treatment program for women.

Responsibilities

  • Completes comprehensive assessments of clients' substance abuse history and treatment requirements, and develops individualized treatment plans.
  • Provides individual and group counseling and may facilitate didactic groups.
  • Documents treatment and discharge plans, client progress, and responses to treatment; maintains related records and charts.
  • Performs case management and contributes to client care monitoring.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or closely related field preferred.
  • Credentialing : CADC, CRADC, P-LPC, LPC, P-LMFT, LMFT, LMSW or LCSW required; institutional treatment professionals shall be credentialed or eligible for credentialing. Possession of a master's level state licensure in social work or counseling is preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years clinical counseling experience; concurrent experience in substance abuse and dual-diagnoses preferred.
  • At least 6 months of development counseling experience with the program-specific population preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain Missouri Department of Corrections clearance as the work environment is a correctional institution.
  • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk and move about the facilities for up to two hours at a time to monitor and interact with clients.
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to use a keyboard and video display terminal to receive, retrieve, and audit information and data.
  • Ability to record, proofread, and check documents and files for accuracy.
  • Ability to respond to telephones, hear, and detect alarms and unusual noises.
  • Compensation

    Based on experience and credentials :

  • $40,000 - $60,000 annually
  • Gateway Foundation conducts annual reviews including merit increases.
