Locum Physician Assistant (PA) - Hospitalist in Illinois

We are seeking an experienced Hospitalist Physician Assistant for a 7-week locum tenens assignment in Illinois. This opportunity begins on Nov 24, 2025, and involves night shifts from 7p-7a, with coverage across multiple hospital locations and a focus on med surg nocturnist care. The role offers a consistent schedule of 10-12 shifts per month and requires comfort with both solo and team-based settings. Job Details Location : Illinois Facility Type : Hospital Start Date : Nov 24, 2025 LOA : 7 weeks Provider Type Needed : Hospitalist Physician Assistant Schedule : Night shifts, 7p-7a; multiple locations with 10-12 shifts per month; specific dates include Nov 24, Dec 4-7, Dec 21-22 Responsibilities and Duties Provide nocturnist hospitalist coverage at designated hospital sites Manage med surg admissions, with acuity ranging from low to high depending on location Operate independently at critical access sites with no staff support (3-4 admits / night at high acuity, 1-2 admits / night at low acuity) Collaborate with MD and APP support at higher volume trauma locations (10-12 admits / night) Utilize multiple EMR systems including Meditech, CPSI, Epic, and Cerner Ensure high-quality patient care across varying levels of acuity and resource availability Additional Information Hospitalist experience required Must hold an active Illinois license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Ability to independently manage admissions and patient care overnight in both solo and team environments Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
