The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to deliver high-quality therapy services that help residents improve mobility, restore physical function, reduce pain, and enhance independence in daily activities.
Physical Therapist Assistant Key Responsibilities :
Carry out treatment plans designed by the Physical Therapist, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility tasks.
Assist residents in improving strength, range of motion, and overall physical endurance.
Monitor and document residents’ treatments, progress, and responses in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
Communicate effectively with the supervising PT regarding residents’ status, changes, and potential adjustments to care plans.
Provide education to residents, families, and caregivers on exercise programs, mobility techniques, and safety measures.
Adhere to facility policies, professional practice standards, and regulatory requirements, including documentation and infection control.
Physical Therapist Assistant Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Current and valid licensure / certification in the state of GA.
CPR certification required (or must obtain upon hire).
Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.
Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.
