Your Role in the NCCU : Provide expert care for patients with acute ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury (TBI), status epilepticus, and post-neurosurgical recovery. Perform frequent neurological assessments, monitor for signs of deterioration, and intervene rapidly to prevent secondary brain injury. Manage advanced therapies, including ventilators, continuous EEG, and vasoactive medications. Educate patients and families on neurological conditions, rehabilitation expectations, and recovery pathways. What qualifications you will need : Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program. Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse required One (1) year of critical care experience as a licensed Registered Nurse preferred Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date) Current American Heart Association BLS Certification Methodist Hospital Stone Oak is equipped with the most modern technology available.
