Description :
The Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist must have experience in neurosurgery or neuroscience.
Shifts are typically 5-8 hours, with the possibility of negotiating up to 4-10 hour shifts.
There is no rotating shift schedule.
Expect 2-3 call shifts per month, along with at least 1 holiday assignment.
The client prefers healthcare professionals with interventional radiology experience.
Candidates coming from other modalities may require up to six months of training in neuro interventional radiology.
Primary duties and responsibilities include :
Demonstrating competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning, and consistently producing radiologic images of diagnostic quality.
Working cooperatively with all members of the department to resolve problems expediently.
Displaying flexibility, team spirit, compassion, respect, politeness, and accountability when dealing with customers.
Demonstrating awareness of and sensitivity for patient rights in all interfaces with patients.
Areas of emphasis for this role include :
Administering oral contrast as needed per exam.
Instructing and preparing patients for radiographic or fluoroscopic examinations and assisting during procedures.
Demonstrating competence and proficiency in operating all x-ray equipment, CR, and DR systems.
Reporting equipment malfunctions to management or the lead.
Completing all assigned procedures in a timely manner and using time between procedures to assist others and perform clerical duties.
Understanding the role in maintaining medication security for authorized personnel only.
Demonstrating competency in providing healthcare services to all age groups.
Exhibiting strong interpersonal relationships across all age demographics.
Documentation and information management responsibilities include :
Demonstrating competency in using Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS.
Participating in performance improvement activities when warranted.
Maintaining confidentiality through the use of personal passwords and patient care modules.
Answering technical telephone inquiries from physicians or hospital personnel while maintaining good phone etiquette.
