Homeless Shelter Supervisor
Schedule / Hours : Monday-Friday 8 : 00am - 4 : 30pm (40 hours per week)
This position is responsible for :
Supervise, manage, and participate in the day-to-day operations and counseling and advocacy activities of Homeless Shelter; supervise counseling and advocacy staff and ensures work is in compliance with established policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manages, supervises, and participates in the day-to-day activities of the shelter to include coordination of staff activities and services to participants. Ensures that operations run smoothly and in compliance with established procedures. Manages and supervises requests for assistance from staff regarding incidents, crises, or other emergent issues 24 hours per day.
- Supervises program staff responsible for providing direct services; instructs and trains employees in the proper methods and procedures for conducting work; monitors work in process and upon completion for compliance with established program policies and procedures; conducts performance evaluations and makes salary and hiring / firing recommendations.
- Maintains awareness of local, state and federal regulations governing program operations and ensures compliance to the same including health, safety, and licensing regulations
- Prepares statistical reports on a regular basis.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with community agencies in order to maintain awareness of resources and make appropriate referrals.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, and four years of direct service experience in the field of Social Work or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications :
Valid state driver's license.
