The Procurement Category Manager is a seasoned and experienced procurement professional that is responsible for overseeing the procurement process, which includes strategic sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships. This role involves identifying improvements that will save the organization money, meet or exceed project schedules, and build efficiencies.
On a given day, your work might include :
- Developing and executing sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, delivery, and safety.
- Managing assigned trades in all aspects of negotiations, market analysis, and contract management.
- Owning the vendor relationship from onboarding through offboarding, including reference checks and quality reviews.
- Negotiating favorable contracts to support the organization's operational and financial goals.
- Developing strong vendor relationships and monitoring performance through regular reviews and corrective actions.
- Proactively partnering with and building strong relationships with team members and key stakeholders across the organization at all levels.
- Analyzing market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks to inform procurement decisions.
- Identifying opportunities and driving continuous improvement to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
- Reviewing bids and making award recommendations, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and schedule objectives.
- Hosting vendor meetings for bulk award trades and facilitating the first round of bulk award contracting.
- Preparing and presenting action plans to the Purchasing Director on process improvements based on cost trends.
- Partnering cross functionally on projects and initiatives as needed or required.
- Performing other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Bachelor's degree, and7+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, negotiating, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Working environment & physical requirements :
This position requires frequent use of a computer, including keyboard functions and visual acuity of 20 inches or fewer daily.Standing and / or walking for extended periods of time.Be able to lift up to 20 pounds on occasion with or without accommodation.Must be able to work in office Monday Friday, within core business hours of 8AM-5PM.Travel & vehicle requirements :

This is a full-time position paying $109,800 - $164,750. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Individual placement within a salary range will vary based upon factors including but not limited to candidate experience, knowledge, individual, skills, and organizational performance.
