Base pay range
$350,000.00 / yr – $400,000.00 / yr
Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. The award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.
Qualifications
- United States citizenship. Non-citizens may be appointed only when no qualified citizen is available.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited U.S. medical school.
- Full and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
- Completed an ACGME- or AOA-accredited residency in a core specialty that leads to board certification.
- Board‑certified in diagnostic radiology. Fellowship training in a subspecialty is a plus.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Physical ability to lift ≤15 pounds, reach above shoulder height, use fingers, and walk / stand for 4 hours.
Basic Requirements

Serve as a remote diagnostic radiologist assigned to VA Portland Healthcare System’s imaging service.Interpret diagnostic radiologic studies, including CT, radiography, fluoroscopy, MRI, and ultrasonography.Read studies using PACS and voice‑recognition dictation, interfacing with EHR and RIS systems.Collaborate within a team of staff radiologists and, if fellowship trained, develop policies, procedures, and training for a subspecialty.Maintain up‑to‑date medical knowledge and comply with VA clinical standards.Benefits
