A FQHC Federally Qualified Health Center, is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OB / GYN) with deep expertise in obstetric care, women's reproductive health, and surgical interventions related to pregnancy and gynecology.
The ideal candidate will deliver comprehensive care to women during all phases of pregnancy and reproductive life, performing physical assessments, managing deliveries (including Cesarean sections), and maintaining full compliance with health regulations and medical staff bylaws.
- Responsibilities :
- Conduct thorough history and physical assessments tailored to women's health, including prenatal, pregnancy, and postpartum evaluations.
- Provide holistic care to women throughout prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum stages, ensuring maternal and fetal well-being.
- Perform Cesarean sections and other gynecologic surgeries as medically necessary to preserve patient health and ensure safe deliveries.
- Clearly explain procedures, lab results, and diagnoses to patients while offering education, treatment options, and necessary follow-up care.
- Initiate appropriate referrals to specialists or other healthcare services to ensure comprehensive care based on individual patient needs.
- Maintain accurate, current, and compliant medical records that reflect all care and services provided to each patient.
- Participate actively as a member of the medical staff, including adherence to medical staff bylaws, quality assurance protocols, and clinical meetings.
- Share in on-call and emergency OB / GYN coverage duties as assigned by the OB / GYN Director, supporting continuous patient care services.
- Qualifications :
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree, with successful completion of an accredited OB / GYN residency.
- Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with a current, unrestricted New York State medical license.
- 3+ years of experience in obstetric and gynecologic practice, including labor and delivery management and surgical procedures.
- Proficiency in performing Cesarean sections, with the ability to manage both routine and high-risk pregnancies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient education and culturally competent care.
- Strong working knowledge of EMRs and clinical documentation standards; prior experience with eClinicalWorks, Epic, or similar systems is preferred.
- Understanding of healthcare compliance policies, including HIPAA, patient safety regulations, and organizational standards of conduct.
- Willingness to participate in rotating call schedules, emergency coverage, and continuous professional development initiatives.
