The Bulletin and Redmond Spokesman of Central Oregon are seeking a part-time newsroom clerk / assistant to help gather and upload information to our newspapers, websites and several social media platforms in a deadline-driven environment.
This 20-hour per week job is an excellent opportunity for those interested in working in the fast-paced and exacting field of local journalism. The successful candidate must be highly organized, have good time management skills and enjoy interacting with a variety of people.
This position will compile information from diverse sources to produce weekly calendar listings, write short news briefs and download items such as puzzles and comics from several ftp sites. Skills needed include excellent communication skills by phone and email, strong data input skills, excellent grammar and spelling plus strong computer skills. Must be willing to develop judgment skills to vet content based on the parameters set by the company. Experience with content management systems and email delivery systems such as Mail Chimp are useful.

Hours are typically Monday through Friday during office hours, but can be flexed for a strong candidate. Travel between office sites is needed on an infrequent basis. Training for this position takes place at our office near the Old Mill District in Bend. This is an in-office position with remote work available on an as-needed basis only.
