POLICE OFFICER

Police Officer Position

This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position. This National Guard position is for a Police Officer, Position Description Number D2156000 and is part of the 106th RQW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. This is for three positions and is a temporary appointment NTE one year.

Responsibilities :

• Conduct formal combat arms training and maintenance activities for the Security Forces Squadron and tenant personnel.
• Control and operate firing ranges; inspect, repair, and maintain ground weapons.
• Enforce law, maintain law and order, preserve the peace, and protect life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of the military installation.
• Oversee the work activities of Drill Status Guardsmen (DSG) assigned to the Security Forces Combat Arms function.

ENLISTED SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Must have one year experience equivalent to the next lower grade that provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYENT : The duties and responsibilities of your job may significantly impact the environment. Employee must successfully complete annual / recurring requirements specified for the position. Courses include : Law of Armed Conflict, Explosive Safety, Professional and Unprofessional Relationships, Suicide Awareness, and other programs as directed by the Security Forces Commander. The maximum entry age for DoD Law Enforcement is 37. An individual not appointed by the last day of the month in which the individual becomes age 37 will not be originally appointed or assigned to these positions.
