Job Summary : The Educational Behavior Specialist will support the evaluation team in the evaluation process while supporting the district's social-emotional needs.

- Serves as an information clearinghouse for school personnel regarding appropriate behavior management techniques.
- Provides district-wide consultation and support in all areas of behavior management.
- Engages in a coaching and learning approach that effectively supports educators and students
- Serves as a member of the multidisciplinary team for students undergoing an evaluation and coordinates resources to assure a comprehensive educational evaluation is completed.
- Collaborates with school staff and families to improve communicative, social, academic and behavioral outcomes for all students
- Shares research, effective instructional practices, and emerging trends that can be applied in classroom settings.
- Communicate effectively and collaborates with education teams, school administrators, students and parents to identify goals, plan and implement evidenced-based practices in the delivery of assessment, instruction, and behavioral principals.
- Participate on the intervention team(s) for at-risk students considered for an evaluation, when appropriate.
- Works collaboratively with the Building Principal to determine the need to be involved in Response to Instruction / Intervention (RTI) planning and meetings.
- Completes all education reports and paperwork accurately according to regulations and procedures within the required time line.
- Collaborates with school personnel on Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) and Behavior Improvement Plan (BIP) as needed.
- Conducts one-on-one or small group activities for services outlined in students' IEP.
- Follows and informs others of IDEA, Article 7 rules, regulations, as well as policies / procedures outlined by the building principals and Griffith Public Schools.
- Attends all appropriate staff meetings at the building and district level.

Educational adjustments to meet the needs of children and services of children in special educationPerforms other duties as assigned or required through the students' IEP needs.Qualifications : Listed below are the minimum qualifications for this job, though an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and / or experience may be accepted.
Required : LCSW or LMHC
Extensive knowledge in the areas of autism, emotional disability, behavior disorders, behavior management and behavioral intervention techniques and plans.Possess a strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations and can follow developed proceduresDesire to continue career improvement.Physical Demands / Work Environment : The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
