Job Title : Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a long-term care pharmacy setting. This role involves filling and compounding medications, handling phone communications with nursing staff, and ensuring accurate prescription labeling. The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for servicing 1000 beds and must adhere to pharmacy policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Fill and compound medications, including ointments.
• Communicate with nursing staff via phone to confirm dosage information.
• Fill prescriptions for a facility servicing 1000 beds.
• Label prescriptions accurately following pharmacy policies and procedures.
• Work in either the daily fill or cycle fill departments.
• Handle daily fill prescriptions ready for same-day shipping.
• Manage cycle fill, preparing blister cards and bottles for 30+ day supplies.

Work Environment

The work environment is casual, with a requirement to stand for long periods. The position involves rotating shifts Monday through Friday, with weekend shifts every 3 to 4 weeks. Weekend work includes Saturday from 9 : 00 am to 3 : 00 pm and Sunday from 10 : 00 am to 2 : 00 pm, with adjusted weekday hours to balance the schedule. This role is set in a production environment, suitable for candidates with prior experience in similar settings.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00 / hr.
