Additionally, the division is responsible for the distribution of state and local taxes, ensuring compliance with the Uniform Unclaimed Property Act, and returning unclaimed property (UCP) to the rightful owners. This incumbent will be required to maintain and develop their own knowledge to ensure their trainings remains accurate. A Division Trainer plays a critical role in developing a skilled and knowledgeable workforce that contributes to the overall success of the organization. Some of this will include :
Assess the performance of division staff through work review and feedback, including examining the accounts adjusted and giving feedback on the transactions, identifying skill gaps within the division, and developing training programs to address these gaps.Completing work reviews, working with employees to correct work reviews, adjusting them if necessary.Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, evaluations, and performance metrics.Design, develop, and implement training programs for both entry-level and advanced staff based on organizational needs and goals.Design and deliver advanced trainings for experienced staff to enhance their expertise and knowledge. The format of these trainings will range from classroom instruction, individual instruction, meeting spotlights, and video trainings.Conduct in-person onboarding for new hires to introduce them to the agency culture, policies, and procedures.Provide coaching and mentoring to employees to support their professional development through training, providing on the job assistance, and feedback. Offer guidance and support to help employees reach their full potential.Excise Tax Examiner 4-Trainers are expected to maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and employee progress, as well as stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to incorporate relevant information into training programs. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other trainers across divisions and departments to share best practices and resources. Telework - This position has the flexibility to work remotely the majority of the time, however the duty station is in Tumwater, Washington and the successful candidate must agree to travel to the office for key scheduled meetings or as operational needs dictate. Understand the department correspondence guidelines for Plain Talk style of writing.Verbal Communication : Effectively and tactfully communicating with employees. One year of experience in the Taxpayer Account Administration division as an examiner 3.Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, or a related field.Two years Department of Revenue experience at the senior or lead level in accounting, auditing, compliance, or tax administration.Lean Yellow Belt.Lean Blue Belt.Throughout the hiring process, candidates will be evaluated on how they consistently demonstrate the following competencies at an advanced level :
