RN II, Women's Care Unit (AHCL)Accurately charges for patients and unit supplies.Administers and controls narcotics and medications.Administers IV fluids according to the PCS Policy and Procedure.AGES SERVED (a) : Infant, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care / service appropriate to the age of the patients / individuals served. Demonstrates and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patients / individuals status and interpret relative to his age-specific needs, and to provide the care / service needed.Communicates effectively with all members of the patient care team including patients, family and physicians.Compassionately provides care to patients acknowledging physiological, psychological and developmental needs.Demonstrates correct and safe techniques in the use of office and patient care equipment.Demonstrates the ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise and professional manner.Develops an individual plan of care specific to each patients age, growth and developmental status. Sets priorities for nursing actions in a logical sequence.Documents patient assessment, plan, interventions and patients response in the clinical record appropriately.Evaluates outcomes for patient care. Consults with other providers as required and adjusts nursing care processes as necessary to ensure optimal patient care. Implements the plan of care. Demonstrates the necessary knowledge and skills to provide safe and effective care for patients.Maintains and meets expectations on time for all competencies, license, certifications and education requirements as outlined by local administration, Adventist Health (AH), The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and all other regulatory agencies.Maintains the unit and patient care area in a clean, neat and safe environment. Manages information effectively. Provides a concise and accurate report at end of shift or when transferring a patient.Performs an appropriate and complete assessment for each patient assigned utilizing assessment techniques specific to the patients age, growth and developmental status.Performs nursing duties as delineated in and according to the guidelines found in the WCU Skills Inventory Checklist and WCU Policies and Procedures.Provides and documents appropriate patient and family education.Provides effective leadership by directing and / or delegating tasks to other members of the health care team who provides direct patient care under the supervision of an RN.Willingly performs other duties and innovations as assigned.

Must have 3 to 4 year experience - Primarily Nights, but on occasion Day shift may need help with coverage. 1800 - 0630 (nights). 36 or 48 hours per week are ok. Must have strong labor experience and comfortable with postpartum experience.Education and QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Basic computer skills.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : At least one-year labor and delivery experience, nursery experiences (any level) and postpartum experience is appreciated.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.LICENSE OR CERTIFICATIONS : AWHONN Fetal Monitoring must get certification within six months of employment and recertified every two years., ACLS & STABLE preferred; all registered nurses employed in Nursing Supervision, Med / Surg, Emergency Department, Perioperative Services and ICU must be initially certified within six months of employment and recertified every two years in ACLS.LICENSE OR CERTIFICATIONS : Current BLS certification; all Patient Care personnel must be initially certified prior to patient care and recertified every two years in American Heart Association BLS.LICENSE OR CERTIFICATIONS : Current license as a Registered Nurse by the State of California.LICENSE OR CERTIFICATIONS : Current NRP and hospital conscious sedation certification for all Registered Nurses in the WCU and Nursing Supervision must be initially certified within six months of employment and recertified every two years in NRP.QUALIFICATIONS : Basic computer skills; and all BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certified personnel are responsible for familiarizing themselves with the crash cart.
