The Marwood Group is a leading healthcare advisory and research firm headquartered in New York City with offices in Washington, D.C. and London, England. Marwood Advisory is based out of the NYC office and works with private equity, corporate healthcare, lenders, investment banks, law firms, and other healthcare-focused entities to provide diligence services on prospective transactions and advise their corporate strategies.
The Senior Data Analyst will join a growing analytics team and play a key role in building and scaling Marwood’s data capabilities across a broad range of engagements. This individual will act as a thought partner to Marwood’s consulting teams and subject matter experts, applying technical skills, industry knowledge, and intellectual curiosity to develop data-driven analyses and insights that inform healthcare investors and organizations.
Some of the things you'll do :
- Collaborate with in-house healthcare experts to create new analyses and tools for client engagements, using a combination of public, proprietary, and client-specific data sources.
- Conduct research and analysis across industry literature, government and commercial datasets, and company financial information to develop a deep understanding of the U.S. healthcare services landscape and related data.
- Work creatively to solve novel client questions by leveraging existing data sources in new and insightful ways.
- Design, develop, and manage dashboards on Marwood’s internal self-service analytics platform for key internal stakeholders.
- Help improve internal processes related to data management, quality control, and documentation.
We're looking for someone who has :
3–5 years of professional experience in a data or analytics role.2+ years working with healthcare-specific datasets, particularly insurance claims, enrollment, and price transparency data.Familiarity with the U.S. healthcare system, including providers, payers, and industry dynamics.Proficiency in SQL for efficient data aggregation and analysis of large datasets.Experience cleansing and transforming data from disparate sources.Familiarity with cloud-based data warehouses such as Snowflake and Databricks.Proficiency in business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Sigma Computing, Looker, Tableau).High proficiency in Excel for data manipulation and presentation.Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.It’s a plus if you have experience with
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and working with healthcare data environments.Experience using dbt (data build tool) and GitHub for data modeling and version control.Experience in consulting or healthcare investment environmentsProficiency in Python for data preparation and analysis (e.g., pandas, matplotlib).Benefits and Compensation
