Job description

Objective :

Home Instead Care Pros provide a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their homes. These services are meant to enhance the quality of life for seniors. Home Instead Care Pros, also known as Companions, help clients and their families meet the challenges of aging with dignity, pride and compassion.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Provide Companionship and Home Helper Services which could include but are not limited to :

Companionship and conversation

  • Perform light housekeeping tasks (dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, etc.)
  • Prepare meals and clean up meal-related items
  • Provide medication reminders and appointment reminders
  • Provide incidental transportation using your vehicle or a client's vehicle, for example, accompanying clients to appointments. Mileage reimbursement is available when your care is used.
  • Report daily activities and any significant changes in a client's needs or living conditions via the WellSky call in system, or by directly calling the office
  • Report hours according to office policy and communicate changes in availability in a timely manner
  • Secondary Responsibilities :

  • Reflect the core values of Lipari & Associates, Inc., d / b / a Home Instead
  • Participate in company sponsored training and social events including Care Pro / Companion meetings
  • Participate in periodic satisfaction survey
  • Maintain regular communication with office staff
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned
  • Essential Job Requirements :

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull 25 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel and reach
  • Provide 3 professional references
  • Possess a valid NYS Driver's License
  • Possess valid auto insurance
  • Use personal vehicle to drive to clients' homes throughout the Greater Rochester area.
  • Proficiency in using cell phones and apps; company uses apps to manage employee scheduling, and track client Care Plans
  • Ability to withstand exposure to dust, mold, mildew, and cleaning solutions
  • Ability to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect
  • Ability to adapt to various living environments and locations
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
  • In order to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our clients, we conduct periodic unannounced Quality Assurance site visits and solicit feedback during all phone conversations. A performance appraisal will be conducted annually. Raises are based on exemplification of company core values, client compatibility, feedback, and your own reliability and availability.
