Manager, Business Development
UCF's Institute of AI seeks a Manager, Business Development to join their team. The Manager, Business Development is responsible for business development, marketing, and public / governmental relations for the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at UCF. Builds and maintains mutually beneficial relationships with external vendors, organizations, and officials to strengthen university research, development, and scope of impact and provides consulting services, seminars, and workshops for small business owners.
Responsibilities :
- Markets, assesses and leads efforts to pursue opportunities to obtain external funding for research in academic activity, such as NSF's REU and NSF's SSTEM programs.
- Markets, assesses, and leads efforts to develop online programs for graduate degrees in specialized areas of Artificial Intelligence.
- Markets, assesses and leads efforts to coordinate business opportunities with industry partners & makes regular site visits to various client locations to provide client academic support.
- Coordinates the management and support of existing and new graduate programs in the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at UCF.
- Oversees support for faculty involved in academic business and external funding efforts.
- Manages grant (hosting) activity ensuring compliance and timeliness.
- Develops, maintains and delivers reports to stakeholders.
- Attends educational and networking events and all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications :
Master's degree or higher in a STEM field (especially AI, Data Science, or Computer Science), Business Administration, Marketing, or Public Administration.Understanding of AI technologies and their applications in academia and industry.3+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or external relations, preferably in a university or research setting.Familiarity with grant management, compliance, and reporting.Experience working in or with higher education institutions, especially in research development or academic program coordination.Experience developing and marketing online graduate programs or continuing education initiatives.Exposure to securing external funding (e.g., NSF grants like REU or S-STEM).Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.Experience organizing and delivering seminars, workshops, or consulting services for industry or academic audiences.Special Instructions to the Applicants :
