About the Position
The Administrative Specialist Senior provides highly responsible and often complex direct administrative support to bureau chiefs and / or executive leaders in Custody, Compliance, Enforcement and / or Operations command of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO). This role interacts with MCSO leaders and executives as well as the general public, personnel of other law enforcement entities, County office staff, and MCSO employees. The position requires dependability, discretion, initiative, and a professional demeanor.

Provides highly responsible and confidential administrative support independently with initiative and minimal guidance to one or more members of command staff and / or executive leaders (e.g., Deputy Chief, Executive Chief, Chief Deputy Sheriff, Chief of Administration).Administers programs and processes specific to the bureaus / divisions being supported.Maintains scheduling for the assigned command staff and / or executive leadership.Creates, updates, and maintains complex spreadsheets, reports, forms, and correspondence; maintains schedules and files.Provides responsive and timely customer service in person, by phone, email, and mail.Acts as liaison and responds to administrative questions related to operations, departmental processes, and procedures.Makes travel arrangements for trainings to support leadership in the area(s) of assignment.Arranges meetings and conferences for the assigned bureau / division leadership and staff.Researches, compiles, and analyzes data in support of command / bureau / division initiatives and reports results.Monitors and tracks budgets and purchases; assists in purchasing, accounting, payroll, and fiscal account duties.Processes sensitive material and information and maintains confidentiality.Researches and interprets Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Policy and Procedures and / or operational manuals to prepare information for leadership and staff.Assists in the development of command / bureau / division goals; evaluates, recommends, and implements changes to work methods and procedures that increase efficiency.Provides support to Maricopa County residents and members of the criminal justice system; assists with problem resolution and addresses concerns.Makes project or program recommendations.Coordinates contact with a wide variety of government officials who exercise varying levels of authority.May direct the workflow of lower-level administrative staff and train other employees as required.Attends meetings and provides meeting notes.Working Conditions
