Patient Care Technician, Maternity Care Center, PRN Tier 1, Brunswick
Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic and advanced patient care activities, and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.

Essential responsibilities include :
Contributing to patient database by collecting and documenting patient informationPreparing patient rooms for admissions, returning surgical patients, transfers, or dischargesProviding general patient care, such as morning care, which may include bed bath, oral hygiene, combing hair, dressing patient, evening care, back rubs, changing bed linens, cleaning overbed table and bedside stand, straightening room, and other general care as necessary throughout the shiftPreparing patient for meals, and assisting with meals or feeding the patientCollecting and transporting specimens as ordered or requestedReporting any changes observed in condition or behavior of patients in a timely mannerResponding promptly to patient needs and call lightsProviding for patient safety through preventative measuresDemonstrating skills such as discontinuing peripheral IV, discontinuing indwelling urinary catheter, phlebotomy, EKG, bladder scanning, wound care, obtaining blood products, nasopharyngeal specimen swabs, and ostomy appliance changeMinimum qualifications include :
High school graduate or equivalent preferredMinimum of six-months successful experience as a certified nursing assistantValidated and successful completion of SGHS's Patient Care Technician competenciesCertification as a Nursing Assistant in the state of GeorgiaAmerican Heart Association BLS CertificationWhy choose Southeast Georgia Health System?
