Location : New Haven, Connecticut (06510)

Facility Type : Level I Trauma Center, Short Term Acute Care Hospital

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 12 / 2025 – End : 3 / 13 / 2026)

Shift : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19 : 00 – 07 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Guaranteed Hours : Yes

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Charting System : Epic EMR

Orientation : 16 hours

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Connecticut RN license required (pending license accepted)

Minimum 1.5 years of recent ER nursing experience in a Level I Trauma Center or similar acute care hospital (2 years preferred)

Certifications : TNCC (or TNS), ACLS, BLS

Previous travel nursing experience required

Experience with Epic charting system preferred

Must provide at least one professional reference

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Local candidates (within 75 miles of New Haven) not accepted

ER Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality emergency care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

Manage patient ratios averaging 1 : 6 in a busy ER setting

Perform triage and respond to acute medical emergencies

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services

Float within scope to meet facility needs (excluding trauma / rescue rooms, triage, and locked behavioral health units)

Utilize advanced clinical skills : continuous IV sedation, dysrhythmia management, ventilated patient care, and ICP monitoring

Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR

Adhere to hospital policies regarding weekend coverage and shift makeup requirements
