What You'll Do

Design and model foundry tooling, including patterns and core boxes.

Use SolidWorks and AutoCAD to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for manufacturing and maintenance.

Collaborate closely with product development, engineering, and operations teams to finalize new product designs and ensure manufacturability.

Develop fixtures and machining components from renderings, rough designs, or concepts, working with both internal teams and external vendors.

Create layouts and drawings of complex assemblies, mechanisms, and structural parts.

Support new and existing pattern designs, including maintaining design data and records.

Troubleshoot design challenges and develop creative, practical solutions.

Evaluate and recommend modifications to plant equipment and facilities to improve processes, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Lead and contribute to continuous improvement efforts, incorporating feedback and lessons learned into future designs.

Stay at the forefront of technology, contributing ideas for new tools, techniques, and solutions.

Communicate technical ideas effectively across teams and with stakeholders.

What You Bring

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or 10+ years of foundry tooling design experience).

3–5 years of experience specifically in foundry tooling design.

Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and 3D printing (FDM and SLA), plus experience with 3D scanning.

Strong understanding of working with diverse materials (wood, metal, plastic, electrical components).

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Proven multitasking and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

Exceptional attention to detail and a track record of delivering quality work.

Ability to work independently, take initiative, and assume responsibility for projects.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and make data-driven decisions.
