GD Resources is hiring a Director of Music / Accompanist (DMA) to support the Command Religious Program (CRP) at the SEABEE Memorial Chapel located on the Naval Construction Battalion Center (NCBC) in Gulfport, Mississippi.
This role provides professional musical support for worship services, ceremonies, and religious programs for Catholic and Protestant communities.
The DMA works under the direction of the Command Chaplain and Religious Ministry Team (RMT) to deliver high-quality sacred music that enhances the worship experience.
Responsibilities Provide musical accompaniment for all scheduled Catholic and Protestant worship services, ceremonies, and special observances.
Assist with planning and coordinating hymn selections, choral pieces, and other musical elements based on liturgical requirements.
Conduct rehearsals and ensure all music is professionally prepared for services.
Submit required information for worship bulletins and service programs.
Support the CRP with administrative tasks including music planning, equipment requests, and coordination with chapel leadership.
Maintain professional appearance, punctuality, and conduct at all times.
Notify the Command Chaplain of repairs or improvements needed for government-owned musical instruments and equipment.
Provide a qualified substitute accompanist if unavailable (substitute must be approved in advance; contractor is responsible for compensation).
Adhere to all DON and DOD policies, installation regulations, ethics rules, and base access requirements.
Qualifications Demonstrated ability to read and perform liturgical worship music.
Proficiency in accompanying congregational singing and leading worship through sacred music.
Strong sight-reading skills with the ability to adapt to changes during services.
Experience performing traditional and contemporary sacred music.
Familiarity with chapel worship environments and the structure of military religious programs preferred.
Must pass base access and background requirements and comply with all installation policies.
Additional Details Contract includes an eleven-month base period with four one-year option periods and a potential six-month extension.
